The
employment rate for the population aged 15-64 in Bulgaria
decreased by 0.5 percentage points compared to the same quarter of
2025 and reached 70.5%. 1,951.6 thousand people, or 66.9% of the
employed, work in the service sector, 816.2 thousand (28.0%) in
industry, and 150.0 thousand (5.1%) in agriculture, forestry and
fisheries, according to NSI data published today.
60.9%
of the unemployed during the period were men, 52.2% had secondary
education. Of the total number of unemployed, 12.4 thousand, or
11.5%, are looking for work for the first time.
