The Regional Historical Museum - Ruse is recruiting volunteers to patrol the riverbed of sections of the Danube, after its level has dropped significantly these days. The campaign was organized after reports of new finds in the area where mammoth remains were discovered at the end of July.

The campaign will take place on August 21, 2026, and the meeting point is in the village of Ryahovo at 8:00 a.m. It will be led by the museum's curator in the "Nature" department, Krasimir Kirov. Volunteers must be provided with water and suitable shoes. Minors must be accompanied. Anyone who wants to join the campaign can register their interest by calling 082/ 825 002.
