Open Doors Day at oldest operating lighthouse at the Bulgarian Black Sea coast

Today, August 18, is the Open Doors Day at Shabla Lighthouse. This opportunity is the third of four open door dates organized in 2026 on the occasion of 170 years since the start of operation of Shabla Lighthouse – the oldest operating lighthouse on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, the Municipality of Shabla writes on its website.

Visitors will have the opportunity to enter the lighthouse, see a small exhibition and enjoy the impressive view from its first platform. The event is part of the initiatives dedicated to August 18 – the Day of Bulgarian Lighthouses, when we pay tribute to these iconic maritime facilities and the people who care for them.
