Heavy traffic at the Kapitan Andreevo and Kalotina border crossing points

Traffic is heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing with Turkey and the Kalotina border crossing with Serbia, affecting both trucks and passenger vehicles, the General Directorate of Border Police reports. Traffic is normal at all border crossings with Romania, Greece, and North Macedonia.

Thirty-one people were injured in 28 serious road accidents over the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Interior. In Sofia, three serious and 19 minor accidents were registered, leaving three people injured. Since the beginning of the month, 20 people have died in road accidents, while 500 have been injured.

Over the past 24 hours, 116 fires were extinguished, with no injuries reported, according to the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection. Firefighting teams responded to 151 incident calls. They carried out 27 rescue and assistance operations, three of which were related to road accidents.
