Heavy traffic at the Kapitan Andreevo and Kalotina border crossings

Traffic is heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing with Turkey and the Kalotina border crossing with Serbia, the General Directorate of Border Police reports. Traffic is normal at all border crossings along the Romanian border. Due to low water levels in the Danube, ferry traffic between Svishtov and Zimnich has been suspended for an indefinite period. Traffic is normal at all border crossings with Greece and North Macedonia.

Two people were killed and 37 injured in 30 serious road accidents over the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Interior. In Sofia, two serious and 24 minor accidents were recorded, with two people injured—one of them in life-threatening condition. Since the beginning of the month, 22 people have died in road accidents, while 535 have been injured.

Over the past 24 hours, 180 fires were extinguished across Bulgaria, the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection reports. One person was killed and four were injured. Firefighting teams responded to 238 incident calls. They carried out 43 rescue and assistance operations, 10 of which were related to road accidents.
