The government has provided 500,000 euros for the construction of a specialized laboratory to control the authenticity of Bulgarian rose oil. The news was announced by the Minister of Agriculture Plamen Abrovski at a briefing at the Council of Ministers. The decision is related to the protection of Bulgarian rose oil - a product with high added value and an established international reputation.
"Bulgaria is
known for its rose oil worldwide. Unfortunately, so far the state has
not provided the necessary capacity to distinguish natural from
artificial rose oil. This creates an opportunity for artificial
products to be presented as Bulgarian," the Minister of
Agriculture said, quoted by the press service of the Ministry of
Agriculture.
The new laboratory
should be operational by the end of the year.
