Up to EUR 180 million will be invested in innovative Bulgarian companies and small and medium-sized enterprises through the European JEREMIE initiative. This will be made possible following the National Assembly’s ratification of amended agreements between Bulgaria and the European Investment Fund on the implementation of the financial instrument.
The funds will be directed to growth funds, technology transfer, deep technology (Deep Tech), the Three Seas Initiative, as well as companies operating in the defence and dual-use technology sectors, the government press service said.
The government describes JEREMIE as one of the most successful financial instruments supporting businesses in Bulgaria. Since its launch in 2009, it has mobilized EUR 349 million in investments in companies, with more than EUR 200 million subsequently reinvested in new financial instruments.
