The
Ministry of Foreign Affairs has extended invitations for
international observation of the presidential and vice-presidential
elections of the Republic of Bulgaria scheduled for October 25, 2026.
The action taken is “in fulfilment of commitments under the
Electoral Code in order to ensure the conduct of fair, free and
democratic elections”.
Invitations
have been sent to the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human
Rights and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for
Security and Cooperation in Europe, to the Parliamentary Assembly of
the Council of Europe, as well as to the Parliamentary Assembly of
the Black Sea Economic Cooperation. If the organizations accept the
proposal, the Foreign Ministry will propose to the Central Election
Commission to register their representatives as international
observers for the upcoming elections.
