Heavy traffic at Kapitan Andreevo and Kalotina border crossings

Traffic is heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing with Türkiye for passenger cars entering Bulgaria, and at the Kalotina border crossing with Serbia for passenger cars leaving the country, the General Directorate of Border Police reported. Traffic is normal at all border crossings with Romania, Greece and North Macedonia.

One person died and 23 were injured in 18 road accidents over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Interior reported. In Sofia, 16 minor road accidents were registered, leaving 16 people injured. Since the beginning of the year, 4,248 road accidents have been recorded, with 298 fatalities and 5,279 injuries.

Over the past 24 hours, firefighters extinguished 154 fires, with no fatalities or injuries reported, the Directorate General Fire Safety and Civil Protection said. Firefighters responded to 190 emergency calls.
