The Bulgarian government will seek legislative changes aimed at improving the management of Bulgaria’s tourist resorts. This became clear following a meeting between Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov and Regional Development and Public Works Minister Ivan Shishkov and representatives of the business community at the Black Sea resort of Golden Sands.

“We are here to work together. The road to the destination, access to the resort, cleanliness, green spaces, beaches and the quality of services are all crucial to ensuring tourists’ satisfaction,” Tourism Minister Dr Ilin Dimitrov said.

“So far, the system has functioned despite the state’s reluctance to support tourism. What is important now is to work together to create a legal framework that will give impetus not only to an individual resort, but to the tourism sector as a whole,” Regional Development and Public Works Minister Architect Ivan Shishkov said.

The ministers’ meetings with representatives of the tourism industry will continue.
