Tsanko Tsankov has added swimming the English Channel to his list of achievements, BGNES reported. He successfully completed the 35 km open-water swim, one of the toughest challenges in long-distance swimming.
“It was an incredibly challenging non-stop swim in the Atlantic Ocean,” said Niki Iliev, the Bulgarian swimmer’s manager, after Tsankov completed his English Channel crossing. Despite suffering abrasions and bleeding from jellyfish stings, Tsankov is in good condition.
The English Channel, which connects the Atlantic Ocean with the North Sea, is part of the Ocean’s Seven series. Tsankov has now completed six of the seven crossings, including the Strait of Gibraltar in 2022, which he swam in a wetsuit.
