Hot and mostly sunny on Tuesday, with afternoon showers in Western Bulgaria

Overnight, clouds will build over western and northern Bulgaria, bringing brief showers and thunderstorms in places. A light south-easterly wind will weaken and die down in many areas.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny. North-eastern Bulgaria will remain cloudy before midday, with some showers, but the rain will gradually stop and the skies will clear. In the afternoon, clouds will build again over Western Bulgaria, with isolated showers and thunderstorms. Winds will be light, moderate in Eastern Bulgaria, from the east-south-east. Maximum temperatures will range from 31°C to 36°C, around 32°C in Sofia.

The Black Sea coast will be mostly sunny, although there will be more cloud before midday, particularly in the north. A moderate east-north-easterly wind will blow. Maximum temperatures will be between 28°C and 30°C, with sea temperatures around 25°C. Sea state will be 2–3 on the Beaufort scale.

In the mountains, sunny spells will prevail, but clouds will build during the day, bringing brief showers and thunderstorms to some ranges in western Bulgaria. Winds will be light to moderate from the south-south-east, turning west-south-westerly at higher altitudes. Temperatures will reach around 26°C at 1,200 metres and 18°C at 2,000 metres.

Across the Balkans, the morning will be mostly sunny. Clouds will build in the afternoon, with brief showers in parts of the north-western half of the peninsula. The rain will become heavier and more widespread overnight.
