Transport and Communications Minister Georgi Peev will unveil Bulgaria’s first Alstom electric train today. A total of 12 trains, financed under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, have already been delivered to the country, the Transport Ministry said.

The presentation will take place at Sofia Central Station at 2.30 pm.

The 12 trains are worth a total of nearly €155 million. The contract provides for another 23 trains to be delivered to Bulgaria in stages. Together with the Škoda trains already in service, the new Alstom trains are part of the ongoing renewal of Bulgaria’s railway fleet.
