Welcome to Bulgaria Today, the English-language podcast of Radio Bulgaria, on August 24 hosted by Rositsa Petkova.

In today’s programme, we’ll bring you the latest news from Bulgaria, including developments concerning American tanker aircraft at Bezmer Air Base, GPS interference over Sofia, and a proposal to make the bearded vulture a symbol of Eurovision 2027 in Burgas.

Next, our feature today introduces you to German-Bulgarian opera singer Nadja Stefanoff, who says that the most beautiful vouces are coming from Bulgaria. The daughter of Bulgarian tenor Stefan Stefanoff, her story takes us from the opera stages of Germany back to her father’s native Varna, where, after more than two decades away, she returned to perform Wagner.

We'll close the programme with Bulgarian music performed by the Bulgarian National Radio Big Band.

Have an enjoyable listen!
