Traffic is heavy at Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint between Bulgaria and Turkey

On the border with Turkey, traffic is heavy at the passenger car entrance to the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint, the Main Directorate of Border Police reports. Traffic is normal at all border crossings with Greece, Romania, Serbia and North Macedonia.

In 23 accidents over the past 24 hours, 29 people were injured, the Ministry of Interior reports. In Sofia, one person was injured in a serious traffic accident, and there were 33 minor accidents in the capital.

One hundred and thirty-five fires have been extinguished in the past 24 hours, the Main Directorate of Fire Safety and Population Protection reports. No citizens were killed or injured. 27 of the fires caused direct material damage. 85 rescue operations and relief operations were carried out.
