Jim Sheridan to chair CineLibri 2026 international jury

Irish director, screenwriter and producer Jim Sheridan will chair the international jury at CineLibri 2026. The 12th edition of the film and literature festival will run from October 15 to November 8, the organisers said.

Sheridan is a six-time Oscar nominee, known for films including My Left Foot (1989), In the Name of the Father (1993), The Boxer (1997), In America (2002), Brothers (2009) and The Secret Scripture (2016). Films directed by him have received a total of 16 Oscar nominations, with My Left Foot winning two Academy Awards, for Daniel Day-Lewis and Brenda Fricker. His films have also received eight BAFTA and 14 Golden Globe nominations.

The CineLibri 2026 competition will feature full-length films adapted from literary works. The selection includes films previously screened at the Cannes, Venice, Berlin and Toronto festivals, with two of the adaptations among this year’s Oscar nominees. Two new Bulgarian adaptations will also compete.
