Traffic is heavy for passenger cars entering Bulgaria at the “Kapitan Andreevo” border crossing with Türkiye, the General Directorate Border Police reports. Traffic at all border crossings with Romania, Greece, Serbia and North Macedonia is normal.

Over the past 24 hours, there have been 18 serious road accidents, in which 22 people were injured. No fatalities were reported, the Interior Ministry said. In Sofia, there were 26 minor crashes and one serious accident that left two people injured. August figures show a total of 580 serious road accidents, resulting in 27 deaths and 714 injuries.

A total of 148 fires were extinguished over the past 24 hours, 20 of which caused material damage, the Directorate General Fire Safety and Civil Protection reports. No people were injured. Firefighting units responded to 195 emergency calls and carried out 39 rescue and assistance operations.
