Second “Bulgarian Festival” showcases Bulgaria’s national cuisine in Tokyo

A “Bulgarian Festival” will be held from today until September 1 at the Takashimaya Shinjuku department store in Tokyo, the Bulgarian Embassy in Japan said on its Facebook page.

The event is being held for the second consecutive year and aims to promote Bulgarian cuisine and traditional products. The specially created menu by Lyudmila Kostova features a selection of popular Bulgarian dishes.

The Bulgarian products on display will include rakia, mastika, wine, honey, flaxseed oil, rose water, rose jam, rose tea and rose chocolate, as well as Troyan pottery and the first manga about Bulgaria.

The Festival’s Official Opening Will Take Place on August 30. The program will feature a welcome address by Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Japan Marieta Arabadjieva, Bulgarian folk dancing, an exhibition of traditional costumes and photographs from Bulgaria. The event will be held at: Shinjuku Takashimaya, 2F Welcome Zone.
