Brief showers to bring temporary relief from the heat on Thursday

Sunny weather will prevail in Bulgaria tomorrow, with the development of clouds. Brief showers and thunderstorms are expected in northeastern Bulgaria, and in the afternoon, isolated showers are also possible in some mountainous areas. Winds will be light to moderate from the north-northwest, shifting to east-northeast in the far eastern regions.

Maximum temperatures will range between 30°C and 35°C, reaching 27°C to 29°C in northeastern Bulgaria and along the Black Sea coast, and around 31°C in Sofia.

In the mountains, the weather will be predominantly sunny. In the afternoon, cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will develop, bringing brief showers and thunderstorms to isolated areas of the mountain ranges in central and eastern Bulgaria. Winds will be moderate, and strong at higher elevations, from the northwest. Temperatures will reach around 25°C at an altitude of 1,200 metres and around 18°C at 2,000 metres.

Along the Black Sea coast, cloudy skies are expected, bringing brief showers and thunderstorms. The northern coast will see more widespread and locally heavier precipitation. Winds will be light to moderate from the east-southeast. Maximum temperatures will range between 27°C and 29°C, while sea water temperatures will be 25°C to 26°C. The sea will be moderately rough, with waves around force 3.
