Drones washed ashore along Bulgaria's Black Sea Coast pose no danger

None of the drones discovered so far, including those found yesterday and today as well as in previous days, are carrying munitions. Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov said this before the start of a meeting of Parliament’s Defence Committee, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) reports.

According to Stoyanov, the drones found along Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast are either reconnaissance drones or decoy drones and do not pose a danger because they are not carrying ammunition. He nevertheless urged the public not to approach the wreckage of the drones.

The minister said that Bulgaria’s armed forces have units tasked with dealing with the drones that have been found, but they cannot be in several locations at the same time. In his view, the growing number of drones reaching the Bulgarian coast is linked to the intensity of the conflict in the Odesa and Izmail area in recent days.

“The current sea currents are carrying these drones and bringing parts of them ashore,” the minister said.
