Bulgarian Justice Minister and US Chargé d’Affaires to hold regular meetings

Bulgarian Justice Minister Nikolay Naydenov and US Chargé d’Affaires Martin McDowell will hold regular meetings to discuss progress on legal matters, with strict adherence to the European regulatory framework. This became clear following a meeting between the two officials today.

They discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in the areas of criminal sentence enforcement policy and witness protection, Justice Minister Nikolay Naydenov and US Chargé d’Affaires Martin McDowell said during the meeting.

The talks also addressed legislation to combat human trafficking, the introduction of artificial intelligence, and the framework governing sanctions.
