Although Dara Ekimova is best known as a singer, she is also a talented songwriter and lyricist who “captures” the pulse of the times and turns it into song lyrics. Her new single, “Digitalno” (Digital) — one of the standout tracks on her second album, “Setiva” (“Senses”) — is a cyber-infused love song about the emptiness created by screens. Dara Ekimova’s co-writers are actually her friends — Dexter, C-Mo, Eva Parmakova and D-ZASTA — whom she invited to a creative camp organized specifically for the “Setiva” album.
The video for “Digitalno”, directed by Kalina Steneva, transforms the singer into a digital character and surprises with a visual aesthetic inspired by dystopian cyberpunk futurism. Instead of flesh and touch — a hologram. Instead of a perfect image — digital glitches. Instead of love — a simulation.
The new single “Digitalno” will also be part of the singer’s concert setlist at her upcoming concerts.
