More Bulgarians traveled abroad, fewer foreigners visited Bulgaria in July

In July, 1,037,700 Bulgarian citizens traveled abroad, an increase of 3.1% compared with the same month in 2025, according to preliminary data from Bulgaria’s National Statistical Institute (NSI).
Travel for holidays and excursions increased by 4.2%, while trips for other purposes rose by 4%. Business travel, however, declined by 2.4%.
The number of foreigners visiting Bulgaria during the same month fell by 1.2% to 1,979,700. Trips for holidays and excursions decreased by 2.7%, while visits for business and other purposes increased by 1.7% and 0.1%, respectively.
The most popular destinations among Bulgarian travelers were Greece, Turkey, Romania, Germany, Serbia, Italy, France, North Macedonia, Austria and Spain.
Foreign visitors to Bulgaria came primarily from Turkey, Romania, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, Serbia, Greece, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
