Volunteers from the non-profit Friends of the Sea – Burgas have released more than 40 kilograms of young carp into Lake Mandra near Burgas, BTA reported. The fish were purchased from a specialised hatchery.

The annual restocking initiative was carried out under the supervision of the Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture, whose experts were present to ensure compliance with regulations.

The aim is to improve conditions for recreational fishing in Lake Mandra, which attracts anglers from the Burgas region and other parts of Bulgaria.

Fish restocking is among the regular initiatives of Friends of the Sea – Burgas. In July 2025, its volunteers released more than 5,000 young carp into the lake.
