Tonight will be mostly clear and calm, although northwestern Bulgaria may see brief showers and thunderstorms.

September 1 will be predominantly sunny, but conditions will become unsettled across western and central Bulgaria, with locally heavy showers and thunderstorms. Winds will be light to moderate from the northwest, and from the northeast in eastern Bulgaria. Highs will range from 31°C to 36°C, around 32°C in Sofia.

The Black Sea coast will remain sunny, with a moderate northeasterly wind. Daytime temperatures will reach 27°C to 28°C, with seawater temperatures of 24°C to 26°C. The sea will be slightly rough.

In the mountains, sunshine will prevail, with clouds building over the western ranges around and after midday. Some areas will see brief showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be around 25°C at 1,200 metres and 17°C at 2,000 metres.

Across the Balkans, it will be mostly sunny. Brief showers are possible over mountain areas in the southwest of the peninsula and in the Carpathians. Temperatures will begin to return to seasonal levels across much of the region.
