The motorway section connecting Ruse and Byala is expected to be completed by the end of 2028 and will form part of the larger Ruse–Makaza project, linking Ruse to the Bulgarian-Greek border via Veliko Tarnovo, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Shishkov said during a tour of the construction site near the village of Peychinovo.
The section is co-financed by the European Union. Minister Shishkov said the future motorway is intended to connect Ruse with Makaza, while a concessionaire will be sought for the construction of the road between Veliko Tarnovo and the southern border, BNR’s correspondent Asya Pencheva reported.
