World rhythmic gymnastics champion Stiliana Nikolova has accepted an invitation from Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov to join a campaign in which prominent Bulgarians promote the country as a tourist destination around the world.
“It is an honour for me and I am happy to take on this mission. I feel rested, recharged and ready for my next big goal – the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics,” Nikolova said.
The 21-year-old gymnast was accompanied by Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation President Iliana Raeva. Born in the Egyptian capital Cairo, Nikolova speaks English, Arabic and Russian in addition to Bulgarian. She will record video messages for an international audience, sharing what makes her homeland beautiful.
The Tourism Ministry campaign already features internationally recognised Bulgarians, including Eurovision 2026 winner DARA, Oscar-nominated actress Maria Bakalova, Olympic and world weightlifting champion Karlos Nasar and football legend Hristo Stoichkov. Kickboxing star Stoyan Koprivlenski, Olympic snowboard medallist Tervel Zamfirov and Olympic biathlon medallist Lora Hristova are also taking part.
