Defense spending to reach 2.33% of GDP in 2027

Defense spending is planned to reach 2.33% of gross domestic product (GDP) next year, Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov said in a lecture marking the opening of the academic year for officers at the G. S. Rakovski National Defence College, BNR’s reporter Daniel Inkov informed.

Bulgaria is one of the few countries that already has an approved National Plan to increase defense spending to 5% by 2035, Minister Stoyanov said.
