Slight drop in temperatures and scattered showers expected

A cold atmospheric front will move across the country over the next 24 hours. During the night, rain and thunderstorms will persist in southwestern Bulgaria, but will gradually weaken and stop. Cloud cover will break up and decrease. Elsewhere, the weather will be mostly clear and almost calm.

Thursday will be mostly sunny. Cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will develop around and after midday, bringing brief showers to many areas and a risk of hail. In some places, mainly in southwestern and northeastern Bulgaria, the weather phenomena will be intense. Maximum temperatures will range between 29°C and 34°C, around 29°C in Sofia.

It will be mostly sunny along the Black Sea coast. Cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will build around and after midday, with showers possible along the northern coast. Winds will be light to moderate from the east-northeast. Maximum temperatures will range from 25°C to 28°C. The seawater temperature is 24°C-26°C. Sea state 1–2 on the Beaufort scale.

Sunny weather will also prevail in the mountains. Cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will develop around and after midday, bringing brief showers to many areas and a risk of hail. Moderate north-northwesterly winds are expected, becoming strong at the highest elevations. Maximum temperatures will be around 23°C at an altitude of 1,200 meters and around 16°C at 2,000 meters.
