A small change can set much bigger changes in motion — this idea lies at the heart of the new national campaign “Hits with a 1% Change” by the One Percent Change organization. The charity campaign brings together some of Bulgaria’s most beloved contemporary artists to give iconic songs from the 1990s and the early 2000s a fresh interpretation.
At the heart of the project is a deeply symbolic musical transformation: popular songs originally written in a minor key will be performed in a major key. With just one small change, they will take on a new emotional quality, conveying hope, light and the sense that every difficult story can have a different ending. This musical change is also a metaphor for the mission of One Percent Change to make regular charitable giving a natural habit for more Bulgarians.

The campaign kicks off with one of the best-loved songs in Bulgarian pop music, “Byagstvo” (Escape) by Duet Avenue, which was given a fresh interpretation by Molec.

“When we heard the idea behind the project, we liked the fact that the change is not only musical. It carries a message. If a song can make someone stop and think, and then inspire them to do something good, then music has done its most important job”, the members of Molec say.
The “Hits with a 1% Change” campaign will continue with two more musical surprises, which will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
Because sometimes all it takes is a 1% change to set something much bigger in motion.
