Four days of Zumba fever at Balchik’s Alegria festival

Balchik gets into the Zumba rhythm from September 4 to 7 as the international Alegria festival holds its 14th edition. This year’s guest instructors come from Puerto Rico, Spain, Poland and Portugal, organiser Stoyan Stoyanov told BTA.

The programme opens at 7 pm on September 4 with a Zumba marathon in the town centre, outside the municipal building, open to residents and visitors alike. This year there will also be sessions for children and people with limited mobility, dance workouts with weights and aqua Zumba.

Over the years, several themed events have become Alegria traditions. One of the most popular is the folklore party, where participants from different countries dress in traditional costumes and the festival’s special guests join in Bulgarian folk dances.
