Bulgaria has proposed introducing a new term, “industrial cohesion”, during a visit by European Council President António Costa.

Costa is in Sofia as part of his tour of EU member state capitals, following an invitation from Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev. According to BNR reporter Marta Mladenova, this year’s tour focuses on the EU’s 2028–2034 Multiannual Financial Framework.

Discussions also covered common European defence and improved connectivity. Costa said the next EU budget would look very different from the current one and would need to reflect today’s global realities.
