Heavy traffic at Kapitan Andreevo and Kalotina border crossings

Traffic is heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing with Turkey for inbound passenger cars and at the Kalotina border crossing with Serbia for outbound passenger cars, the General Directorate Border Police reports. Traffic is normal at all border crossings with Greece, North Macedonia and Romania. Ferry services on the Danube serving the Silistra–Călărași, Oryahovo–Bechet and Svishtov–Zimnicea border crossings remain suspended.

Three people died and 22 were injured in 21 serious road accidents over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Interior reported. In Sofia, 21 minor traffic accidents with no injuries were recorded. Since the beginning of the month, five people have died and 80 have been injured in road accidents. Since the start of the year, 317 people have lost their lives in serious road accidents, while 5,657 have been injured.

A total of 122 fires were extinguished over the past 24 hours, the Directorate General Fire Safety and Civil Protection reported. Firefighting units responded to 176 emergency calls and carried out 48 rescue and assistance operations.
