Hot and sunny start to the weekend

Skies will remain clear overnight, followed by sunshine tomorrow. A light westerly to southwesterly wind will blow across the Danube Plain and eastern Bulgaria. Highs will range from 31°C to 36°C, around 32°C in Sofia.

The Black Sea coast will be sunny, with a light south-southeasterly wind. Highs will reach 28°C to 30°C, with seawater temperatures of 24°C to 26°C. The sea will be slight.

Sunshine will also prevail in the mountains. Winds will be light to moderate from the northwest, becoming strong from the north-northeast at higher elevations. Highs will reach around 26°C at 1,200 metres and 18°C at 2,000 metres.

Across the Balkans, sunshine will dominate, although cloud will increase temporarily over the far north, bringing some rain. The morning will be cool following the recent weather disturbance, but daytime temperatures will rise again.
