Traffic was normal at most Bulgarian border crossing points as of 6:00 a.m. on September 6, Bulgaria’s Unification Day.
At the border with Romania, traffic is normal at all crossing points.
At the border with Greece, traffic was normal at all border crossings. Passenger cars and minibuses weighing up to 3.5 tonnes can pass through the Rudозem, Zlatograd, Makaza and Ivaylovgrad border crossings. Passenger cars, buses and trucks can to pass through the Kulata, Ilinden and Kapitan Petko Voyvoda checkpoints.
At the border with Türkiye, traffic is intensive at BCP Kapitan Andreevo on exit for trucks.
At the border with North Macedonia, traffic is normal at all border crossing points.
At the border with Serbia, traffic is normal at all border crossing points.
Three people died and 33 were injured in road accidents in Bulgaria on September 5, 2026, the Ministry of Interior reported. Since the beginning of the year, 320 people have died and 5,705 have been injured in road accidents across the country, with a total of 4,598 crashes recorded.
