Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Aleksandar Pulev met Chinese Vice President Han Zheng in Xiamen, the ministry said. The two discussed opportunities to expand trade and investment between Bulgaria and China. They stressed the need for more balanced bilateral trade and a stronger presence of Bulgarian companies on the Chinese market, BTA reported.
Deputy Prime Minister Pulev said the Bulgarian-Chinese Economic Commission, which will meet in Beijing on September 10, will be the first intergovernmental commission held by the current government.
Han Zheng welcomed the visit by the Bulgarian government and business delegation to the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade in Xiamen, highlighting its importance for deepening bilateral relations.
The Chinese Vice President also pointed to an upcoming business forum bringing together representatives of around 100 companies from the two countries with potential for future partnerships. He welcomed Chinese companies investing and doing business in Bulgaria and encouraged more Bulgarian companies to take part in trade fairs in China, which would give them wider access to the Chinese market.
