“Democratic Bulgaria” is calling for a parliamentary hearing of the heads of Bulgaria’s security services over reports in the British press that Russians were trained near the Gabrovo village of Mejdeni, the coalition’s co-chair Ivaylo Mirchev said.

BNR correspondent in London Veselin Paunov reported that, apart from the headline, the article does not say elsewhere that the Russians are going to fight in Ukraine. The publication also notes that it was unable to independently verify the claims, which came from former members of Western special forces.

Veneta Arabova, the public relations officer for ALFA- METAL, which is mentioned in the report, told BNR that no Russian nationals are being trained at the company’s facility near the Gabrovo village of Mejdeni.
