There are plans to double property tax valuations by 2029

"Progressive Bulgaria" plans to double property tax valuations by 2029, MP Stefan Belchev told BNT. According to him, the first step will be taken as early as 2027, with a planned 30% increase, followed by further hikes of 35% in both 2028 and 2029. Consequently, by the end of 2029, valuations are expected to be 100% higher overall. This change would lead to an increase in property taxes and waste collection fees, as well as higher costs for real estate transactions, according to reports by BNR "Horizont" and BGNES.
