22-year-old
Bulgarian athlete Bozhidar Saraboyukov narrowly missed the title at
the World Athletics Ultimate Championship, finishing just one
centimeter behind winner Miltiádis Tentóglou in the long jump
competition held on September 12 in Budapest, Hungary. Bulgaria's
sole representative recorded a jump of 8.34 meters but finished
second, as the Greek jumper claimed the trophy with a jump of 8.35
meters.
With
this result, the Bulgarian earned $75,000 in prize money and
performed his trademark backflip in front of a full stadium and
dozens of Bulgarian fans in the stands, the Bulgarian Athletics
Federation reported on its website.
