Alternative rock band No More Many More will celebrate their 13th anniversary with a big concert at Vidas Art Arena in Sofia on September 18. Over that time, they have released five full-length albums, had dozens of hits, played numerous headline concerts and festivals and, not least, built an army of loyal fans.

Since forming in 2013, the band have stood out with their distinctive sound, mixing rock with pop and hip-hop elements and characteristic two-part vocals, as well as the raw energy of their music and the frank lyrics of songs inspired by real events. The lyrics are written by No More Many More frontman Metodi Krustev, who is also the band’s principal composer.

The band’s line-up has changed several times since 2013. Today, alongside Krustev, No More Many More are Radoslav Gergov on vocals and percussion, Vladimir Ivanov on drums, Grisha Georgiev on bass and Kamen Aleksandrov on guitar.

Their September 18 concert will also feature special guests, including the band Taraleshta, known for their three albums and for supporting Manu Chao and S.A.R.S. last year. This summer, they will also be part of The Wailers’ upcoming concert in Sofia on July 15.

Another guest will be actor Valeri Yordanov, with whom No More Many More created the powerful song “Nyama bivshi hashove” (“Once a Rebel, Always a Rebel”). The band are also working on “Pesenta na zhabite” (“The Song of the Frogs”) for Yordanov’s next film, which is due to begin shooting in the spring. Metodi Krustev says of the song:

“The song is about the eternal soldier. The film is pretty heavy – mud, war, battles... I wrote it after reading the script Valeri sent me. Cellist Tanya Nedkova also plays on it. I think it turned out really well. We used special film sounds, sound design. The interesting thing was that I re-recorded the vocals because I got ill during the recording. The next morning, when I heard myself speak, I immediately called to record the vocals while I was ill, because I wanted the song to sound that way – as heavy as possible, since the film is really brutal.”
