Bulgaria sets 2027 poverty line at €443

The National Council for Tripartite Cooperation has approved Bulgaria’s poverty line for 2027 at €443. This is an increase of 13.4%, or €52.37, compared with 2026.

According to Eurostat data for 2026, 1.369 million people in Bulgaria have incomes below the poverty line, equivalent to 21.2% of the country’s population.

Minister of Labour and Social Policy Natalia Efremova said the share of the population living in poverty is expected to fall by 0.5 percentage points next year.
