Sunny skies and highs of up to 31°C

Thursday will be warm and mostly sunny. Morning temperatures will range from 10°C to 15°C, with around 10°C expected in Sofia. Early on, visibility may be reduced in some low-lying areas and river valleys, but skies will clear as the day goes on. Winds will be light from the east, occasionally moderate in eastern Bulgaria. Afternoon highs will reach between 26°C and 31°C, around 27°C in the capital.

Along the Black Sea coast, the morning will bring patches of low cloud and reduced visibility, with some light rain possible on the southern coast. Sunshine will take over during the day. Highs will range from 23°C to 26°C, while the seawater will be 23-24°C. The sea will be slight to moderate, with waves of 2-3.

Mostly sunny weather is expected in the mountains as well, with light to moderate easterly winds. Temperatures will reach around 19°C at 1,200 metres and 12°C at 2,000 metres.

Friday will bring more sunshine, though cloud will increase for a time around and after midday. It will be slightly warmer too, with daytime temperatures rising by another 1-2°C.

Across the Balkans, sunshine will dominate, with some temporary cloud developing in the afternoon but no rain expected.
