Sofia hosts exhibition by participants in Paris Residency Competition

The exhibition of the participants in the competition for a creative residency at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris for 2027 can be visited in Hall 1 of the Union of Bulgarian Artists (UBA) until September 29.

The selected art historians and visual artists will have the opportunity to spend two months in residence next year in the studios of the Cité internationale des arts in Paris. In addition to studios, the Cité internationale des arts complex has exhibition and concert halls and offers a diverse cultural programme.

The Cité internationale des arts brings together artists from around the world and facilitates encounters between artists, audiences and art historians. The competition for a creative residence has been held annually since 1965. The Union of Bulgarian Artists is one of the founding members of the Cité internationale des arts.

Over the years, the Paris residency has hosted more than 600 Bulgarian artists, including Dechko Uzunov, Yoan Leviev, Encho Pironkov, Lyuben Zidarov, Iasen Ghiuselev and Youlian Tabakov.
