Electric vehicles to be assembled in Bulgaria from January 2027

Bulgaria will once again have a factory for Chinese cars, with production expected to begin as early as 2027, specialized website DizzyRiders.bg reported. The plant will be located near Lovech, again in the village of Bahovitsa, in the facilities where models of Great Wall Motor (GWM) were assembled years ago.

Bulgarian Automotive Industry, a partner of Chinese automotive giant GWM, announced that the facility in Bahovitsa will be used to assemble Great Wall electric and hybrid vehicles.

Initially, one electric model will be produced, with additional models planned for a later stage, including two larger plug-in hybrids. The first vehicle to roll off the assembly line will be the electric version of the new Ora 05.
