Warning for the first morning frosts in northern and western Bulgaria

On Thursday, minimum temperatures in Bulgaria will range from 5°C to 10°C. Along the Black Sea coast, morning temperatures will be between 11°C and 13°C, while in some valleys and high plains, mainly in northern and western Bulgaria, they will fall to between 1°C and 3°C. Light frost is expected in isolated places there. Sofia will see a low of around 5°C.
The day will be predominantly sunny, with temporary increases in cloud cover around and after midday. Winds will be light to moderate, from the west-northwest.
Maximum temperatures will range from 19°C to 24°C, reaching around 20°C in the capital.
Along the Black Sea coast, the weather will range from partly cloudy to sunny. Maximum temperatures will be between 20°C and 22°C. Sea water temperatures will be 22°C to 23°C, with waves reaching up to 3 on the Beaufort scale.
In the mountains, predominantly sunny weather is expected. Around and after midday, cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will develop, bringing rain in places across the mountain ranges of southwestern Bulgaria. Snow is expected on the highest peaks. Winds will be light, from the north-northwest. Temperatures will reach around 12°C at an altitude of 1,200 metres and around 4°C at 2,000 metres.
On Friday, the cloud cover will increase from west to east, with rain in places in western Bulgaria. Winds will be light, temporarily shifting to the southeast before turning north again. Temperatures will be one to two degrees higher.
Across the Balkans, the weather will be predominantly sunny. Cloud cover will increase temporarily in the afternoon, while later in the day it will become cloudy over the northwestern parts of the region, with no precipitation expected.
Temperatures will reach 24°C in Athens, 23°C in both Belgrade and Bucharest, and 21°C in Istanbul.
