Julia Kristeva receives one of France’s highest honours

World-renowned Bulgarian intellectual Julia Kristeva has been presented with the Grand Cross of the National Order of Merit by French President Emmanuel Macron, one of France’s highest honours. The distinction recognises her longstanding contribution to the intellectual and cultural life of France and the wider world.

Born in Sliven, Bulgaria, Kristeva is today one of the leading figures in contemporary culture, philosophy and the humanities.
