The war in Ukraine and regional security were among the main topics discussed by Prime Ministers Rumen Radev and Donald Tusk in Warsaw. Radev stressed the need to keep channels of communication open and use every opportunity for dialogue that could help bring the war to an end.
“We have no interest in seeing this war continue any longer,” the Bulgarian Prime Minister said, according to the government press service.
Tusk, for his part, called on Europe to maintain its consistent support for Ukraine. He said the war must end, but not with a victory for the aggressor. The Polish Prime Minister also pointed to the risks posed by Russian attacks close to Poland’s border, BTA reported.
At the end of the meeting, Tusk welcomed the decision to designate February 14 as Bulgarian-Polish Friendship and Cooperation Day and said a similar decision was expected from the Polish Sejm.
