Patriarch Daniil leads Bulgarian Orthodox Church delegation to the Holy Land

Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem and Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil concelebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to mark the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (observed on September 27 according to the Julian calendar), the Bulgarian Orthodox Church reported.
Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem presented Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil with the highest distinction of the ancient Patriarchate- the Cross of the Holy Sepulchre, according to the statement.
The head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church emphasized that Sofia would not forget the assistance and support provided by the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and its late Patriarch Diodoros to the Bulgarian Patriarchate in overcoming the schism in 1998.
Before arriving in Jerusalem, Patriarch Daniil and the delegation of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church were welcomed in the city of Bethlehem with music and church hymns, the Holy Synod reported.
