Bulgaria's national football team coach, Aleksandar Dimitrov, has announced that he will resign.

He made the announcement immediately after Bulgaria's match against Estonia in the second round of the Nations League, which ended in a goalless draw and earned the Bulgarian side its first point in the tournament. The match was played at Hristo Botev Stadium in Plovdiv.

Aleksandar Dimitrov said the team had failed to implement the game plan prepared in advance. “Our play was very chaotic,” he commented. According to the coach, the performance on the pitch showed that the players had lost confidence in the coaching staff.

In their next match, Bulgaria will travel to Iceland.
