Temperatures to rise towards the end of the week

On Friday, Sofia will see a low of around 5°C. Western and central Bulgaria will be calm, with morning frost possible in places. The day will be mostly sunny, with some afternoon cloud, especially in the southeast where it may rain. Moderate northeasterly winds will become strong in the east. Highs will range from 18°C to 23°C, around 18°C in Sofia.

There will be plenty of sunshine along the Black Sea coast, with afternoon cloud and rain along parts of the southern coast. A strong wind warning is in force. Highs will be 18–20°C and seawater temperatures 20–21°C. The sea will be rough, with waves of force 3–4.

In the mountains, skies will be largely clear, with some afternoon cloud but no rain. Strong northeasterly winds will blow. Highs will be around 12°C at 1,200 metres and 5°C at 2,000 metres.

Saturday will bring sunshine across most of the country, while cloud will persist in the east, with isolated light rain in the far southeast. Winds will be light, but remain moderate to strong along the Black Sea coast. Lows will range from 5°C to 10°C, dropping lower in some western and central valleys, where frost is possible. Highs will be 18–23°C.
